Recipe of the Month :: German Shepherd's Pie
We haven't found a dog yet who doesn't love to gobble, gobble, gobble this tantalizing turkey pie. Keep in mind, these weekly recipes are not only all natural, but they are perfect bites for you and the dog in your life to share (just use separate bowls!).
Ingredients checklist:
1 cup cooked ground turkey
1 cup shredded low-fat Cheddar cheese
1 clove garlic, minced
3 tablespoons chopped green bell pepper
3 tablespoons chopped red bell pepper
1 cup skim milk
1/4 cup white flour
2 eggs
As you can see, the ingredients are simple, all natural, and inexpensive, making this a perfect go-to dish for you and your furry roommates. This recipe bakes up into an incredibly tasty 10-inch pie.
Pre-heat oven to 375 degrees.
In a 10-inch pie pan, layer the ground turkey, cheese, garlic, and peppers.
In a separate bowl, stir together milk, flour, and eggs.
Pour over meat and cheese layers, but do not stir.
Bake for 30 minutes. When pie is cooled, cut into wedges and serve. Store in the refrigerator.
Voila! Dinner is served!
